• Euzet Botanical Trail (Starts directly from the village): This trail begins right in the heart of the village of Euzet. Winding along the hillsides, the Euzet Botanical Trail offers an easy walk through the Mediterranean scrubland, where you can discover the region’s native flora. Along the way, you will also come across remarkable geological and historical landmarks, including the Roman Silos and the Camisards’ Cave. These historic sites are located on the heights above Euzet and are easily accessible via well-marked walking trails. There, you will discover seven amphora-shaped cavities carved into the rock, once used as Roman grain silos, as well as the cave that served as a refuge for the Protestant rebels, known as the Camisards, in the early 18th century.

• The marked hiking trails around Euzet: Numerous trails surround Euzet and are suitable for all levels, whether on foot or by bike, taking you through the Gard countryside and its vineyards.
• The Euzet Thermal Baths: The ruins and historical remains of the former spa resort, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, are unfortunately no longer accessible for safety reasons.
• Mont Bouquet (15 km – 20 min by car): This iconic peak rises to an altitude of 629 metres and is a popular take-off site for paragliding. You can drive directly to the summit or follow the marked Visorando hiking trail from the village of Seynes (a sporty circular route of approximately 15 km), which passes impressive cliffs and the ruins of the Castellas.

• The Eure Valley (20 km – 22 min): Located at the foot of the town of Uzès, this wooded valley is a true haven of freshness. It is easily accessible by car, with dedicated parking available on the outskirts of Uzès. The site features flat walking paths along the Alzon River, ideal for leisurely walks, shaded picnics or as the starting point for longer hikes.
• The Pont du Gard (28 km – 32 min): This famous Roman aqueduct is one of the region’s must-see landmarks. The quickest way to reach it is by car via Uzès, following the D981 and then the signs to the paid visitor car parks. You can walk across the aqueduct, visit its interactive museum or enjoy a swim in the Gardon River below.

• The Village of Vézénobres (13 km – 15 min): This hilltop medieval village is renowned for its remarkable architecture and its long tradition of fig drying. A large car park is available at the foot of the village. Stroll through its cobbled streets, enjoy the panoramic terraces and visit the Maison de la Figue, where you can discover the history and culture of figs through an immersive experience.

• The Rochers de la Grande Pallière Hiking Trail (27 km – 35 min): Located on the heights above Anduze, this marked hiking trail offers breathtaking views over the Gardon Valley and the first foothills of the Cévennes. The walk usually starts from the Parc des Cordeliers car park in Anduze.

• The Historic Centre of Anduze and its Clock Tower (26 km – 35 min): Explore the historic heart of Anduze on foot. Don’t miss the 14th-century Clock Tower, the Pagoda Fountain with its colourful tiled roof, and the famous Anduze pottery, handcrafted here for centuries.

• The Castellas Hiking Trails (26 km – 35 min): This short but steep hike leads from the centre of Anduze to the ruins of the Castellas, a former medieval watchtower. The trail begins behind the church of Anduze and rewards walkers with stunning panoramic views over the entire town and its famous “cluse” (river gorge).

• The Bamboo Grove of the Cévennes (28 km – 38 min): This unique botanical garden, unlike any other in Europe, is home to centuries-old giant bamboo, giant sequoias and a beautifully recreated Laotian village. Located in Générargues, just outside Anduze, it offers a large free car park.

• The Gardon River in Anduze and the Gardon Gorges (26 km – 35 min): For a refreshing walk with your feet in the water, the banks of the Gardon River just outside Anduze (towards Saint-Jean-du-Gard) offer beautiful walking trails. Along the way, you’ll find large flat rocks, perfect for taking a break by the water.

• The Alès Mine Museum (15 km – 18 min): Step into the fascinating world of the gueules noires (“black faces”), the coal miners, at this unique mining museum in France. Enjoy a guided tour through the history of mining from 1880 to the present day and experience the daily life of miners from years gone by.

• The Musée du Désert (32 km – 42 min): Located in Mialet, just a few minutes north of Anduze, this museum is housed in the birthplace of the Camisard leader Roland. It is the most important memorial site dedicated to the history of Protestantism and the Camisard uprising in the Cévennes.

• The Cévennes Valleys Museum (38 km – 45 min): Officially known as Maison Rouge, this museum is located in Saint-Jean-du-Gard and is housed in the last silk mill to have operated in France. This outstanding museum of local heritage displays more than 10,000 historical objects showcasing the identity, history and traditional craftsmanship of the Cévennes.

• Les Fumades Casino (23 km – 27 min): Games, entertainment and leisure await at this friendly casino in Allègre-les-Fumades. It also features the “Le Sphinx” dance hall, where live orchestra dances and traditional afternoon tea dances are regularly held.

• La Bouscarasse Water Park (10 km – 11 min): The perfect place to cool off on hot summer days. Located in Serviers-et-Labaume, this forest water park features shaded pools, lazy rivers with inflatable tubes, waterfalls and safe paddling pools for young children.

• Green Park in Saint-Chaptes (12 km – 14 min): This 5-hectare leisure park combines a petting farm with numerous play areas, including a medieval castle, pedal karts and trampolines. During the summer, a water play area with giant slides is also open.

• The Haribo Museum (18 km – 20 min): An ideal attraction for children, this museum traces the history of the Haribo brand and reveals the secrets behind its famous sweets. Located just outside Uzès, the fun-filled visit ends in the official Haribo shop.

• Trabuc Cave (35 km – 45 min): Known as the “Cave of the 100,000 Soldiers”, Trabuc Cave is home to a unique geological formation of micro-stalagmites found nowhere else in the world. This spectacular illuminated cave offers a guided tour that is both fascinating and perfectly suited for families with children. It is located in the village of Mialet, near Anduze.

• La Cocalière Cave (42 km – 50 min): Known as the “Cave of Diamonds”, this cave is located in the village of Courry. It is especially famous for its calcite formations, cave pearls and impressive suspended stone discs. The 1 km underground trail is ideal for families and easily accessible with children. The return journey is either by miniature train or via a fully landscaped, safe and level discovery trail above ground.

• The Concluses of Lussan (30 km – 33 min): Discover the spectacular gorges carved by the Aiguillon and Merderis rivers, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Giant’s potholes, rock shelters, a natural gateway, a stone arch and scenic viewpoints stretch over 6 km and are accessible only on foot. Exceptional landscapes, dramatic rocky escarpments, cavities carved into the riverbed and impressive rock formations reveal the full beauty of this remarkable site. Overlooking the area stands the Pierre Plantée, a menhir approximately 5.5 metres high, bearing witness to human presence since prehistoric times.

• The Gardon Gorges near Russan–Sainte-Anastasie (25 km – 36 min): Designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, following the Camargue (1977) and the Cévennes (1984), the Gardon Gorges are one of the region’s most spectacular natural landscapes, with the Pont du Gard as their iconic highlight. The banks of the Gardon provide cool, humid conditions that support a unique riverside flora, quite different from that found on the surrounding limestone plateau. Throughout the year, the Syndicat Mixte des Gorges du Gardon organises nature outings for all interests. Led by professional guides, these excursions combine leisure, discovery, education and, on some occasions, local gastronomy. Most activities are free of charge and suitable for children aged 6 and over.

• The Alès Cévennes Mechanical Centre (21 km – 25 min): Located in Saint-Martin-de-Valgalgues, this vast motorsports complex brings together numerous renowned companies operating across several tracks (asphalt, dirt and karting) and six racing circuits, including a unique reversible speed circuit in Europe featuring a 600-metre acceleration straight.

• Paragliding from Mont Bouquet (12 km – 13 min): The region’s premier free-flight site. The PARAPENTE SUD school, based in Seynes, offers tandem flights for beginners as well as training courses, allowing you to soar above the distinctive dome-shaped summit of Mont Bouquet.

• Climbing – The Seynes Cliffs (12 km – 13 min): The Seynes Cliffs are a renowned natural climbing site, offering a wide variety of routes on superb south-facing limestone. The most famous Cocardier bulls are honoured with monuments celebrating their courage and remarkable performances in the arenas.
